San Diego Rising Prices

     To begin with rising prices in San Diego, I love to hang out with my friends whatever chance I get, and most times we love going to the UTC shopping center, Sunset Cliffs, and eating multiple times in one hangout. But, as a student, I obviously have to watch out for my spending habits because this spring semester 2026, I have classes where I have to spend a fine amount of money out of pocket. These school funds and my want to hangout with friends, is kind of a problem for me because going out in general does require money. From thinking about who is going to pay, gas prices, and parking in the higher-end areas. This has me sometimes staying inside, rather than having outings because going out in San Diego now is a lot more expensive than when I was a child. It also affects me now in the way that I would want to move out of my parents’ house in my early twenties and be financially independent, but with San Diego’s prices right now, it is somewhat impossible for myself to reach that goal when I have other things to consider from tuition, things I want to do like hanging out or traveling, groceries, and other priorities.

                 A majority of people know the famous saying that is used every single year, “New year, New me.” For myself, I also use this saying half jokingly and half intent to actually have self-improvement, but the New year also came with new problems. Paid parking

  To connect with the high prices in San Diego, having to pay for parking in the more well off areas or tourist attractions is a nuisance. UTC parking for 4 hours is 6 dollars. Parking at Seaport village for only threeish hours, was already 24 dollars. Balboa parking is now 14 dollars. Garage parking in downtown can range from 20 to 30 dollars. This is a problem for students like me, and people who live in San Diego in general because we just want to enjoy what our city has to offer without having to worry how much we are getting charged per hour, while our car is in the parking lot. link! people angry about parking rates
